To the Bayou with Dan and Danni

We're nutsos (I am anyway)

Dan and I had to take a week long trip to New Orleans recently and I thought, "what a wonderful opportunity to really put the Danni Tote through the ringer and see how it does!" Because that is what most people think when faced with a trip to The South, right? I thought so.

I have been carrying the gray Danni Tote for several weeks now, but only around town. I am more than thrilled with its day to day usability, but wanted to give it shot on a cross country, week long power trip.

I used it as my carry on "personal item" and I was crazy surprised how perfect it was! I was ready to breeze through security because I had my boarding pass and ID in the back pocket, after which I moved to the front zipper pocket for security. For the X-Ray machine I was able to zip up the main compartment and send it right through.
Once we got on the plane it fit upright under the seat in front of me, so I was able to get in and out of it easily and I just left it unzipped at that point.

What did it look like while on the plane? Funny you should ask... I have a picture.

No, I didn't feel weird snapping pictures of my
bag at the airport. (Yes I did)

We got magazines, big ol' headphones, nook reader, day planner, glasses, phone (not pictured because it was taking the picture), wallet, make up bag, snacks, and Oh So Much More.

Once we got to town we were running around like crazy people stopping by our office, taking meetings, and cruising around in this:

Economy, indeed

Every meeting we attended we were given a ton of paperwork and other materials that I was easily able to cart away.

While we were running all over town my bag looked pretty much like this. Water, snacks, make up, lots of paperwork, Altoids, wallet, lint roller, you get the idea.
I should also mention I was carrying around a container of fruit from lunch that leaked and I was able to wipe that mess right out. Lucky for me it didn't ooze onto anything TOO important!

It was a whirlwind trip and we got alot accomplished. So ladies (or gentlemen if you are stylish) I would recommend the Danni for any trip you may have coming. Or conventions you may be attending, this bag was more than ideal. 5 stars.

A Few Newbies

Gather 'round, folks! Let me tell you about these tester styles we have happening in the shop right now.
The first one I'd like to introduce you to is the next in the Danni Zip Front line, the zip front purse. I have the biggest crush on this little bag and can't wait to get other colors made if the style catches on.

Its the perfect little size and has just enough pockets so you can easily find yo' stuff. Inside is a zipper pocket and a slip pocket sized just right to store your phone on its side. That's an iPhone 4 in the picture above, just to give you a reference point.

The next bag I'd like you to meet will most likely be a one of a kind bag. I don't think I'll be adding this to the Danni line because its far too close in size to my beloved Danni tote. It would be overkill at this point. But for those of you who love a solid crossbody bag - I have the bag for you!

What a great everyday bag! If you are an iPad carrier, or Reader carrier, or even analog book or planner carrier - this bag is it! The back pocket would be perfect for quick access to your Reader while your on the train or in the waiting room.

Inside is a pen slip and cell pocket along with a few other hidey-holes to keep your little things out of the main compartment. You can fit an iPad in there, maybe a bottle of water, or some candy to sneak into the movies! And my favorite part - the easy to find key lasso! Right at the top, so you don't have to go digging.

And because this is such a Carry All, we were sure to add a nice, comfy shoulder pad to the strap.

A New Style?

Exciting new year around these parts! We are working on SEVERAL new styles to introduce this year and we have the first of them in a test run in our Etsy shop.

Meet the Danni Zipper Front Tote. The first in a line of zipper front styles I hope you'll enjoy.

I LOVE this style. There is a magnetic closure AND a zipper closure that are easy to switch between.

And feet on the bottom for a little added protection. Plus a removable shoulder strap with a removable pad for those days when you are carrying around an entire file cabinet.

Large back pocket in addition to the front zipper pocket. Perfect size for your iPad.

Depending on how the style does in our test run we will be making this in many fun new colors. I can't wait!

2013 Launch Date!

If you keep up with us on Tumblr or Twitter then you have caught glimpses (some pretty, some downright scary) of the fun that is putting together a new line for 2013. Since early fall we have been tossing ideas and putting together prototypes for the new bags as well as the new online shop to go along with it.
Well, all this to say we have set a date! The new site and new line will be up and available for purchase on February 1st, 2013. Hooray!

There is the tiniest of sneak peeks for you! Aren't they lovely?!
If you are curious about the new bags you can get an idea of things to come from our clearance section where we are selling all remaining in stock items as well as several of the prototypes.

The Updated Milly is Here!

As I've been hinting all over Tumblr, we are working on our style updates for 2013. Milly was the first to reach completion and is now available for purchase!

You still have your choice of gold or silver hardware, and the inside is still full of pockets.

Speaking of the interior - we upgraded our linings! We now offer gray and teal in 500 Denier Cordora which is super strong and water repellent.

We swapped the handle rings from the square to the round, which gives the bag a little "jewelry".

You'll also note the pleating is a bit neater in the new style. This is nothing other than practice making better.

The straps are an inch or two longer and a bit thicker for extra comfy-ness. Yes, I know "comfort" is the right word there, but I prefer comfy-ness.

We were able to maintain the same price tag for the updated versions with new lining, and still have a few old style Milly bags on sale!

If you can't tell, I'm pretty darn excited about these little tweaks and hope you enjoy them as well. I hope to have the updated Margots ready next, and boy, are they pretty. I'm crazy pumped about the updates on those girls.

A Little Look Inside What We Do

Have you heard of Benterest.com? Ben is a wordsmith/graphic designer/Photoshop master/video editor out of Baton Rouge, LA and he put together this amazing video for us with a little behind the scenes footage for you nosy people (like me) out there.
We are settled in enough to get work done in our new Vancouver space, but still have a lot of fine tuning to do. I'm really excited to be in a permanent location that has plenty of room to settle into.
As far as our 2013 line the designs are pretty much ironed out and ready to be manufactured. So busy weeks ahead!
